Occasionally, we hear or read something that really amazes us and makes us think about how wonderful the world is. The high stress environment in which we live today makes us forget the simple things that if we looked at would make us realize that we are all part of something bigger. If you were born today, you could expect to live a full generation longer than your great-grandparents. As the environment becomes ever safer, and medicine advances in leaps and bounds people are living much longer than they did only a generation ago. In fact, some scientist say that the person that will live to be 200 years old has already been born.
No one really knows why we age. In fact, as far as your cells are concerned you are much younger than you think. Your cells are always rebuilding and so, most of your body is only 7 to 10 years old. You’re only as old as you think you are.
If you like to listen to music, you’re on the right track. Listening to music may make you healthier and smarter. Music can affect us in many ways including relieving stress and lowering blood pressure, it has even been found to decrease pain. Some classical music is suspected of making people more intelligent.
It’s interesting to know that humans laugh before they learn how to speak. That should tell us something about what’s more important in life. Laughing is the oldest form of human communication.
A hug makes you feel better because it releases oxytocin, which lowers stress and blood pressure.
